Certified I-Car Gold Class: What it means to you

When you go to the doctor, you want to know that your physician is board-certified. When you hire a lawyer, you want to be sure they passed the bar. These are signs of quality – unbiased assurance that the individual you’ve selected is a qualified professional with the expertise to do the job.

In the auto body world, the standard of excellence is I-CAR certification. I-CAR – short for Inter-Industry Conference of Auto Collision Repair – is an international non-for-profit organization that offers classes, activities, and resources, and is THE most important sanctioning body for technical certification.

I-CAR Gold Class is regarded as one of the most desired designations that an auto body shop can attain. But what, exactly, does I-CAR Gold Class mean?

The collision repair industry is constantly inundated with new cutting-edge technologies. Continuous training keeps repair technicians up-to-date on the latest repair methods, repair technologies, and vehicle models.

The I-CAR Gold Class designation assures you that the shop in question is equipped, trained, and prepared to handle vehicle repairs with the latest materials and technologies. Only 10% of body shops nationwide qualify for Gold Class designation. Parkville Auto Body is one of them, and one of only a smattering of collision centers in the Chicagoland area to hold the honor.

In order to achieve I-CAR Gold Class, employees must complete training regimens for such positions as Refinish Technician, Steel Structural Technician, Non-Structural Technician, and Estimator. To maintain our status as a Gold Class shop, we are required to have technicians who have achieved I-CAR’s highest individual training level known as Platinum status.

Acquiring and maintaining Gold Class status involves a huge investment of time and money, but we proudly take on those challenges to ensure that Parkville Auto Body is the shop you can trust for the best quality repair to get you back on the road in like-new condition.
